Since posting my story about how American Airlines abandoned me, and then treated me like a 5th class citizen last week, I was contacted by both MSNBC and CNN.
I got the email from Christopher Elliot of MSNBC first thing Thursday morning (he sent it to me 4:30am that day - the day of my flight), and he wanted to discuss what I went through. Unfortunately, I got back to him too late for his deadline, but I was told that he’d mention my story and link to the blog post I wrote about it . . . I haven’t seen anything yet! Any updates, Christopher?
I was also contacted by Jen Haley of CNN. Jen was writing an article about travel insurance and decided to get in touch. The article just went live on the CNN site and I thought I’d share it with all of you.
So . . . check out:

4Good on you pal for going to the press about this. I’ve had this happen to me a few times. What did the airline have to say?

5Wow - I can’t believe American Airlines were so rotten to you! That’s completely unacceptable. Great idea going to the press about it - I would’ve done the same thing.
It really sucks that you had to lose so much money to get things straightened out - I hope you’re refunded properly and that you never have to experience anything like that again.

6That was a frustrating experience to happen to you! I can’t believe that they told you after all that, that they reinstated the flight. Could you have switched to the flight and then gotten your money back from the other airline? It shouldn’t have happened in the first place, but I’m glad that the press got a hold of you. Hopefully, this will not happen again to anyone.

8It’s a great thing someone noticed your story. And that you were actually ready to fight for what’s yours. I believe stories like yours should come out more often to improve issues we have in this world.
I wonder what would happen if you sued them because you had to change plans and change the flight while spending money and time.

9I’ve always wondered, do you actually get paid when big news company uses you as their sources like that? cos they using your experiences and sell it to the masses, right?

35This has definitely convinced me of the power of blogging. Maybe I should have blogged about that horrific experience I had with southwest — they lost my luggage, was not apologetic about it one bit, scared me that it was lost, returning it more than a week later. The airlines really have been making the news lately, and it’s usually not good news.
