365 Days Left! The End of the Bush Reign is Only a Year Away!!!
January 21st, 2008 by Joshua Dorkin | Filed under Entrepreneurship, Politics.Get ready to party, everyone!
A year from today, a new President of the United States will be Inaugurated!
Let the great global countdown begin!

Be careful watch you ask for, you may get it. As Presidents go, it seems like each one is “worse” than the previous one.
Go Ron Paul!
Please remember that not all of your readers share the same politics as you. It is never a good idea to alienate some of your readers.
Fred – Do I alienate you by celebrating the Democratic process our country provides to us? Do I alienate you by celebrating the fact that we do not live in a dictatorship, where officials stay in power forever? If I do, then you probably shouldn’t read the blog anyway.
365 days too long… thank god the day is coming
Oops! Still now 365 days
… I want to see Bush is …………..
4 Years from now Jeb Bush will be the Republican frontrunner. 8 years from now the US will be a 3rd world nation.. No JK – Thank God Bush is leavin
I’m an Aussie and heard an ex-Presidents wife is in the running ? Man.. thats crazy!
Joshua,
My advice was not directed at disagreeing with your political beliefs or your right to say them. My advice was directed at whether it was prudent to discuss them on your blog about blogging.
You are right Joshua America is wonderful because we do have freedom of speech and free elections.
365 days to go… Who is next? What will the winning party?? The question to be asked… lol
Oh, Bush was also think so, whether he will also continue to re-intense preparations ~ ~ you want to see him?
not all of your readers share the same politics as you. It is never a good idea to alienate some of your readers.
If people are alienated because we’ll have a new president next year, then they shouldn’t read this blog. Did I mention my politics anywhere? Am I a Democrat or Republican?
You’re the only one judging people here.
I’m ready to party! Democrat or Republican, we can use a change. It’s been 8 long years and it’s time for a fresh president.
Hopefully when that day comes, the one who would be sitting would be better…
365 days to go ……. still a long way to go… waiting to see Who is next winning party ???????
Why would somebody be alienated by a blogger posting their opinions? Without personal opinions, most blogs would just be sub-par new sources.
If you have a different political point of view than the writer, and it alienates you, you are taking his writing way too personally.
seriously, when is this man getting outta office?
i can’t wait for his reign to end
I wonder how many colleges across the globe will invite Bush to give a lecture
I suspect that unlike other ex presidents, this one won’t get richer this way
Any Demapublician will turn out the same! It doesn’t matter which one is elected. before there can be any real change in our country the people will have to realize that we only have a one party system and that the Demapublican party has hijacked the government and every single one must be turned out of office and third party servants (yes they are supposed to be servants of the people , not the other way around)must be installed.
People with libertarian ideas (you remember this if your a little older, ideas like LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS)
TODD
CHEERS to that! Here’s to change and a better presidential campaign.
hooray.
Smart move airing your political opinions! Controversial topics are magnets for blog posts. Ok so here’s my opinion: I didn’t vote for Bush first of all so let’s get that out of the way. But, what change is it that you want? We haven’t been attack here at home since 911…do you want that to change? Germany and France have warmed up to us as of late. Two very important allies…do you want that to change?
We’ve spent billions fighting AIDS in africa…change that too?
We’ve managed to cool things off with N. Korea and settle things diplomatically…do you want that to change?
Iran has suspended it’s uranium enrichment program as of 2002 (or is it 2003?) due to the pressure of our invasion of Iraq…do you want that to change?
We are rounding up and capturing/killing Al-queda everywhere we can find them…do you want that to change?
What is all this talk of change anyway? Is change always good? Look, Obama started yelling “Change” from the rooftops, his advisors noted that the word “change” was bringing him points across the political spectrum. Change became the watch-word. But does anyone really know what is behind this so called change?
Nobody’s happy about anything. The conservatives don’t like Bush because of his stance on immigration (like McCain) and the Liberals don’t like bush even if he does something liberal.
This president isn’t my first choice that’s for sure but give a guy some credit when he earns it. Look at how much things have changed in the last year. About a year ago, even less, everybody was saying we “CAN’T WIN THE WAR IN IRAQ!!!”, now things have calmed down so much over there that no one is talking about it!
What does that say about Bushes Judgement as compared to his detractors? He was right! We hung in there and now things are going MUCH more smoothly. It’s not perfect in Iraq or even close but it’s not perfect anywhere.
What’s going to change?
Chris – I’m with you on the Obama Change nonsense – a bunch of empty rhetoric for the blind to follow. I Never said I was for Obama, Clinton, McCain, or anyone else – just noted that we’re just a year from the end of the Bush Tyranny.
Joshua-yes you are right when you say “empty rhetoric”…that was nicely put. And also did you notice that since “CHANGE” started to get people talking, now everybody is “Changing”. Romney was talking change after he saw what it was doing for Obama, hillary is talking change…these people aren’t stupid, they know what words to say and not say.
But Tyranny? Man, tyranny is when you can’t post blogs like this. When “The Man” comes to your house to take you away for airing your opinions about whoever is in charge that’s tyranny. It’s not a word to throw around loosely. It dilutes the meaning of the word.
Hey, call me an idiot but I think in Canada you are not allowed to watch fox new! Neither can you talk about the bible in public because it offends people…that is closer to tyranny than anything we have in America.
In fact the only signs of tyranny I have seen in the good old usa is when my kids came home from school one day around Christmas and they told me that they will get a detention for saying, “Merry Christmas”!!
What the hell is that?? Isn’t that what Scrooge and The Grinch were like? “It might offend some people who don’t celebrate Christmas”…now that is thought control and it is close to tyranny.
Tyranny is like in Iran where they EXECUTE homosexuals. Wow think about it. I can write this post and then go out into the street and call Bush this and that and do you know what’s going to happen? Nothing.
I’d rather live in America with Bush being president than live anywhere else in the world.
i hope the next president that you guys vote for is better than the last =) so….365 days…in counting.
America’s coming election..whew!!!raising my adrenaline…Vote for the right person to support living Americans. Lets begin the countdown…
Here, Here! Let’s make sure that the new one at least has a basic understanding of the English language.
Let’s hope the next president will do better. You might just end up with someone worse.
Lenard,
Bush does say some funny things sometimes doesn’t he? Like, “Nukular” instead of nucear, I love that one…or how about “Strategery”? I couldn’t find it in the dictionary. But he’s not the first president to make up words. President Harding was telling the country we needed a “Return to normalcy” and normalcy was not a recognized word, but it worked for him as he was elected!
But language is about communication and communication is about conveying an idea, and love him or hate him everyone knows just exactly where Bush stands, which is a testament to his ability to communicate effectively. In fact that’s probable why he’s considered so divisive. If he were more eloquent he would be able to be everything to everybody and rise above criticism.
I think it’s the slick talking guys that can’t give a straight answer to save their life that you need to worry about.
Bush says some funny things for sure but it’s not like he’s Archie Bunker! He’s the president of the united states, not the president of the poetry club.
I have seen him stumble pretty awkwardly though…like Porky Pig on LSD !
oops, I guess I’m kinda like ole’ Bush himself…I meant Nuclear with an “L”….
Good riddance and lots of luck for the new POTUS. But he or she has the work really cutout. I mean, best the new President can hope for is to manage a humiliating retreat out of Iraq, try to keep the economy from falling into a recession (if it ain’t already in one) and bang heads in Congress to get something done. Not much of a chance to build a legacy…
i just hope that he could get out of the office pretty soon
let’s just end the war already!
what war? The war is over dude. The US went in, killed all of saddams guys, broke all of their stuff, and killed Saddam and his kids back in 2003. The US could have left a long time ago when they captured saddam. There’s nothing to retreat from, haven’t you seen the news in the last 6 months?
If John McCain becomes president I hihgly doubt there will be any talk of ‘retreating’.
The US has lost about 4000 men in this war. That doesn’t even compare to some of the one day battles of WW2 where the alies lost upto 10,000 a day at times. For the US to make camp in the most violent part of the world for 5 years, and only suffer 4000 lost soldiers is nothing to be humiliated about.
Clinton wont retreat either but maybe Obama might. I really don’t see Hillary pulling out of the middle east at all. She’s already covered her ass on this one which kind of forshadows her intentions, at least that’s what I think.
So…how ’bout those ‘nicks’…
let end the war fast..i’m sicking of seeing his face in TV now, hopefully the next president after this, can maintain a peaceful for all American and also to the world…
Is their any one to answer my question.
Y we were not electing the right candidate for ourselves where ever we are?
Its a terrible mistake that everybody forcing to do so.
Whoever comes its not a valuable for a common citizen, we have to move forward with our own path. Hence electing and election are all waste of time and waste of money.
nothing change. my life goes on..
