Everyone these days has a webcam, and I’m pretty sure most people don’t really use it too much (outside those of you voyeurs & teenagers out there). I actually use mine almost daily making video phone calls through Skype. It’s great! I keep up with my family, friends, and business associates by making these video calls.
There are, however, other great uses of these cameras. I did some exploring yesterday and found a bunch of cool resources for doing online broadcasting via your webcam. These tools can be used to start your own live online TV show, to create a video blog, or to just make interesting web-videos. All are worth checking out!

4Video Blogging is something that I’ve always wanted to get into, yet I never have probably due to my lack of webcam experience. I had one and lost it a couple of years back, and haven’t thought much about it again until recently.
The Internet’s ‘Video Age’ has finally arrived and there’s no time like the present to dive in.

6Josh…I really need to put my nice web cam to use. I didn’t get the cheapest thing out there, but not using it is doing me ZIP good. I plan to put a link to this post on our Friday “Who Said That?.” I found you via fast pitch.

7I uploaded my first YouTube video this week!
For those who don’t know, most digital cameras will allow you to record videos - you don’t have to have a dedicated webcam. You’d probably need a webcam for live shows or video calls though. I haven’t found a way to do this with my digicam…

9Great list. I really enjoy using Ichat with my video camera. Since I’m a videographer I guess you can say that makes a really nice webcam

10I would feel the need to look like a civilized human being if I was to video-chat daily. I should probably shave and give it a go.
What webcam do you use?
(Nice theme, by the way.)

14Sometimes I feel like I’m a dinosaur still stuck in the skype age. Everyone else seems to have moved on to video conferencing. lol

15I use iChat on a regular basis. It’s an awesome program and if you want to send a file you just drag it over the message area. Great website by the way.

16Yes, video broadcasting is big help for our website and blog. For its really effective on my field, i use it to blog just to promote my DVDs to my visitors but not in the essence of selling instead on whats good about this show. So, video broadcasting is great effective way of connecting to people. By the way i really enjoying reading your posted topic, its well informative on my field. keep it up…
