What Does Your Office or Workspace Look Like?
May 21st, 2007 by Joshua Dorkin | Filed under Blogging, Entrepreneurship, Networking, Productivity. One thing every blogger, web-designer, and entrepreneur has in common is that we all have some kind of office that we work out of. For some of us, it is a lounge chair on the beach, for others, a cluttered mess.
What Does Your Office Look Like?
Here’s a look at mine. I call it “Organized Chaos!” As you can tell, there are papers on the floor (they don’t last there long . . . my dogs get to them and shred them eventually), the all-important trail mix, scattered electronics (digital camera & camcorder), notes everywhere, and the centerpiece, my iMac (if you haven’t tried switching to Mac, I would highly consider it!).

Group Photo Contest
Now that I’ve shared my home office with all of you, let’s see what your workspace looks like!
While I don’t have any prizes to give out, I thought it might be fun to see how chaotic or immaculate the offices of the rest of you are.
Here’s what I propose:
- Take a photo of your workspace (without cleaning it up first – we want to see how it looks in reality).
- Post it on your blog in a post about your workspace.
- OPTIONAL, But it would be great if you did: Link to this post somehow (I deserve credit for the idea, don’t I?).
- Contact me via my contact form and point me to your post . . . I’ll add a link to your post from this one.
- Visit all the other interesting workspaces of your fellow bloggers. Feel free to comment on the photos.
- Feel free to tag your fellow bloggers if you’d like!
If anyone has some sort of prize they want to give away, we can always transform this into a fun contest. Anyone?
If no one decides to participate in any way, at least you all now know what kind of environment I work in.
So . . . Share Your Office / Worspace With The Rest of Us!
Disclaimer: This was partially inspired by all the group writing contests out there.

nice office–just a bit smaller than Donald Trump’s, but same basic concept!
Lol I’ve had this same concept for a post since March, but it has been sitting in my drafts list the whole time. I’ll add to the fun sometime this week
Thanks Charles . . . you should join in on the fun!
Dave – great minds think alike! I’m looking forward to seeing your office.
Neat idea. My desk is way too messy to be posting online!
Aimee – That’s a cop out. Let’s see some pics!
Dang!, I left my camera at home. Will fetch it and post my pic soon.
Jump in and join the fun, Melt! I don’t want to be the only one getting hell for my messy workspace.

Hey, my room looks exactly the same … and I’m a girl. ahh, who cares?
Mine is in my conservatory, just a small desk, no paperwork, little clutter just how i like it, if you hadn;t guessed i’m a girl too!!
Digital Cameras
Today people are switching over from film cameras to digital models. The obvious reasons are the ease with which objects are framed and shot, pictures are stored, recorded, and displayed.
I like your display, but where is your actual PC box?
Mine is worse than this!
Like your work it looks professional and like your display specially.
I had to move my office out of the house. I was able to get an office suite that was pretty affordable and caters to individual professionals. It has been a big help in keeping the clutter down.
