A Day in the Life of An Internet Entrepreneur: The Greatest Job on Earth!

May 5th, 2007 by Joshua Dorkin | Filed under Entrepreneurship.

I’m sitting at home watching Dreamgirls (great movie, BTW!) through Comcast OnDemand and I’m working at the same time. Yup! Its Saturday night and I’m at home working, as usual. While I do consider myself a complete workaholic, I didn’t really realize how many hours I put in ever week until I started to think about it just now. I decided to break down a typical day to see what on earth I do with all my time:

An Average Day In the Life of an Internet Entrepreneur

2+ hours: Writing & Responding to Email
2+ hours: Reading And Commenting on Blogs & News in my Feedreader
2+ hours: Reading, Moderating and Posting on Our and other Forum Communities
1+ hours: Researching & Writing posts in my various blogs
2+ hours: Marketing, Advertising, Outreach & Publicity
3+ hours: Web Development, Design & Programming
1+ hours: Meetings & Conferences

In case you think the 13+ hour days are rare, they are not. I usually put in that kind of time during the week and try to ease up on the weekend with a 5 to 10 hour day.

Does it sound like fun to you? This is the greatest job I’ve ever had with the world’s best boss! You’ve gotta love it!

……sounds like an ideal set-up to me. It’s gotta be better than going to work at some company where you’re on your feet all day.

My blog is running on WP too. I really like this… updates keep the system secure, free themes give lots of nice designs and the look and feel of WP is just great! I love it!…
